Father John Kelly, a native of Syracuse, NY, is the Rector at Trinity Church Lansingburgh . He attended Houghton College and is a 1986 graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary. He has served in parishes in Upstate New York and in Clark's Summit, Pa. He is the former Rector of St. John's Troy and has served as the Rector of Trinity Church Lansingburgh since 2004. Fr. Kelly has been a member of the Board of the Episcopal Counseling Service and the Commission of Ordained Ministry. He was recently elected to the Ecclesiastical Trial Court and teaches New Testament for the Deacon Formation Program.
Father John and his wife, Tish, have been married for thirty one years. They enjoy making home visits and hospital calls together. They are also know for their various comedy routines at Trinity, including their "George Burns and Gracie Allen" shows. They are the parents of four children. Their son, Matthew, serves as a part-time pastor on Long Island.
Father Kelly chairs The Vestry of Trinity Chruch Lansingburgh, an administrative body elected by the local church members, providing oversight of all business matters. Officers include a clerk and treasurer. Other church positions and groups include the Women of Trinity, the Altar Guild, the Organist and Choir, the Sexton, Director of Christian Education and other committees.
